Overview:

We cordially invite your son to participate in our annual tradition of summer camp from Sunday, July 28 to Sunday, August 4, 2019.  This year, Troop 17 will be heading to a new summer camp called Yawgoog ("yah-goo") in Rockville, Rhode Island.

Yawgoog has been in operation for more than 100 years and has a lot to offer. It sits on a huge lake with swimming, sailing, rowing, canoeing and fishing. Scouts have the opportunity to earn dozens of merit badges—everything from swimming to robotics to farm mechanics to nature and camping.

Troop 17 will be joining Troop 92, attending Sunday afternoon, July 28 through the morning of Sunday, August 4th. Camp Yawgoog is about three hours and 15 minutes from Short Hills, and we will be hiring a coach bus to transport our Scouts and leaders.
Summer camp provides each scout an excellent opportunity for rank advancement, continual development of leadership skills and outdoor scouting skills, and most importantly, the opportunity to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Prerequisites:

Summer camp is open to all Troop members, but is especially important for our newest scouts. Please note that all scouts who have joined our membership since August 2018 must have attended at least two overnight camp trips prior to attending summer camp.
