CCRPI School Climate Surveys: Parents

Hello Parents!

Please note that the school climate mandatory surveys for the 2018-2019 school year have officially opened. In order to receive a CCRPI School Climate rating, federal law requires that all schools have parent, staff and student survey representation. Please see the survey link below.

Georgia Parent Survey

The Georgia Parent Survey is modeled after the student survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone, or tablet. For parents who do not have access to the Internet, Monday-Thursday, between November 12 and December 12 between the hours of 8 am until 1 pm and 3:00-6:00 pm, Briarlake ES will provide computers for parents to complete the Georgia Parent Survey at school. All parents are encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. For three consecutive years, Briarlake Elementary parent, student and staff survey results reflect consistent improvement!

Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below. Last year 52 parents participated in the parent survey. At least 75% of students at each grade level (3-12) must participate in the GSHS 2.0 to be eligible for the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The GSHS 2.0 is also available in Spanish. Students may select the Spanish version within the survey.

Please note that the middle and high school surveys were reduced from 121 questions to 91 questions. Changes were also made to a few survey questions to provide more clarity and to provide students with additional response options on the self-harm and suicidal ideation questions. A thorough statistical content study indicated that the changes will not affect the validity and reliability of the GSHS 2.0 because the questions most closely aligned with the School Climate Star Rating calculations remain in the survey.

Federal law requires that the student survey is made available for review by all interested parties; therefore, copies of the student survey may be reproduced and made available to parents or other parties upon request. Also, parents/guardians please know that the students are surveyed as well and are given the option to opt out if so desired.
