SCHOOL MEAL BALANCES

School Breakfast is Free to All Chatham County School Students for the 2023-2024 School Year. Parents and Guardians are responsible to cover a student's lunch meal balance, unless an approved meal benefits application is on file. 

School Nutrition does not allow students to purchase a la carte items if funds are not available on the student's account. Charges accrue from a student  who has taken a complete lunch meal consisting of fruits, vegetables, entree and/or milk. Only complete lunches can be charged to your student's account when their account balance is zero. We do not deny students a complete lunch meal. 

 

Snack Waivers

Parents can submit a snack request form from our Menu page under Special Diets. Please send to School Nutrition Services via your school's cafe manager. You can set limits on your child's account for a la carte purchases.  

 

How to add funds or pay off balance:

  • Send money to your cafeteria manager to apply to your student's meal account.
  • Use K12PaymentCenter to create an account to apply funds and monitor your student's purchases. This system sends reminders for low account balances.

The 2023-2024 School Year online Free and Reduce Application is available now. Click here to complete the application on the LunchApplication website. This is the easiest, quickest and most reliable approach to applying for Free and Reduced Meal Benefits.


Note: Some families may have received early letters from School Nutrition Services regarding your child’s or children’s meal benefit status in July 2023. These families do not need to submit a new application for the 2023-2024 School Year.
