The PTA is only as strong as it's volunteers! Volunteering with the PTA allows you to contribute your skills and knowledge for the benefit of both your own children and the greater school community. You’ll also meet and make new friends! There are volunteer opportunities for every level of time commitment.

Executive Board Positions

Co-VP of Programs - Oversee enrichment programs sponsored by the SES PTA. Work as a liaison with volunteer program chairs to help make the great educational and cultural programs happen for our children!

Co-VP of Fundraising - Work together to oversee the PTA fundraising programs throughout the year.

5th Grade Coordinator - Act as a liaison between the PTA Exec board & the 5th grade CVCs to coordinate 5th grade activities and graduation

Volunteers Needed for Events

Membership Coordinator - Help the SES PTA create and implement a membership plan, promoting membership throughout the year, providing membership reports at PTA meetings a few times a year.

Scotty Sprint Event (Sept 24th) For 2021, this will be a fun run during the day! We need volunteers to organize the day, set up the track, organize volunteers, set up refreshment stations.

SES PTA Gala - This year we will host our bi-annual fundraising gala in the spring 2022. We need 2 co-chairs and lots of helpers to reimagine this event!

Book Fair - Do you have a love for reading? Then join the book fair team! You will be responsible for coordinating, gathering volunteers, and setting up and tearing down book fairs. You will also work with teachers to create fun games and giveaways, connect with the librarian to purchase books for the librarian, and order scholastic news.

Art Support

Library Support - help assist Mrs. Violante with her needs throughout the year as well as the Birthday Book program.

Rewards Programs- Promote and manage rewards programs that offer “money back” to SES PTA. Examples: amazon smile, box tops, stop & shop rewards, whole foods etc.

Lost & Found - Collect list items, display for pickup and donate unclaimed items

School Decorating - Help update the PTA Bulletin Board in the front of the school, decorate the outside of the school of holidays and special events

New Family Ambassadors - Organize our new buddies program that matches up new families with veteran SES families. Possibly organize a newcomers outdoor coffee. Welcome and answer questions for new families.

Yearbook - We need a co-chair to support our amazing yearbook chair as well as team members!! Ideally this would be a person with a younger child who can continue for several years. The yearbook is a cherished memory for all students. Every student and grade levels are featured. Team members photograph school events, create pages for the yearbook (training provided).

Hospitality - This role helps to coordinate the teachers back to school and appreciation luncheons, teachers lounge, food/beverages at PTA and newcomer meetings. You'll also help at various times during the year to shop to gifts for teachers and staff.

Author Visits - Assist in coordinating author visits throughout the year

Arts & Culture Enrichment - Help to find interesting arts & culture programs that can be brought to SES either in-person or virtually. These can include art, music, dance programs, gardening, science, history etc.
